Terms

Terms of use, disclaimer, and privacy.

The standard terms that apply to your use of this website. Read once, then we'll get out of the way.

Not legal advice

The information on limelaw.ca is general information about British Columbia law and is not legal advice. Reading this site does not create a solicitor-client relationship between you and Lime Law Corporation. A solicitor-client relationship is created only by a written retainer agreement signed by you and a lawyer at the firm.

BC law changes. The information on this site is correct to the best of our knowledge as of the date the page was last published, but we do not guarantee that it is current as of the date you read it. If you have a specific matter, please contact us — and please do not rely on a website page in place of advice on your file.

Confidentiality of communications

Information you send to us through the contact form or by email — before a written retainer is signed — is not protected by solicitor-client privilege and may not be confidential. Please do not include privileged or sensitive details in your initial enquiry. We will tell you in writing once a retainer is in place and our communications are privileged.

We may decline to act on a particular file. If we decline, we keep the limited information you have provided in our records but do not act on it. Conflicts checks are done on every potential new file before we open one.

Use of this site

You may read, save, and print pages of this website for personal, non-commercial use. You may not republish, redistribute, or alter the content without our written permission. The text on this site is protected by Canadian copyright; the brand and logo are trademarks of Lime Law Corporation.

Privacy

We collect only the information you provide voluntarily — for example, by sending us a contact form or an email. We use that information to respond to your enquiry and, if we open a file, to act on the matter. We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties except as required by law or as necessary to act on your file (for example, sending information to the other party's lawyer on a closing).

We use limited analytics to understand how visitors find the site and which pages are most useful. The analytics are aggregate and do not identify individual visitors. We do not run third-party advertising trackers on the site.

You can ask us at any time what information we hold about you and request that we delete it (subject to our regulatory recordkeeping obligations as a law firm under the Law Society of British Columbia's rules). Email [email protected] with the request.

This site links to external sources — government statutes, regulators, and other public bodies — for the reader's convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or accuracy.

Jurisdiction

Lime Law Corporation is a law firm regulated by the Law Society of British Columbia. Our lawyers are licensed to practise law in the Province of British Columbia. We do not practise law in any other jurisdiction.
